We are now 1 1/2 weeks into our purified home, compliments of Skip and the team at Purified Environments. I wanted to update my Original post.
I can't speak highly enough of Skip, Jessica, Kenneth, Veronica, and the whole team at Purified Environments. After a year of thinking we were doing what we needed to do for Mold remediation in our home, so many wrong turns, so many vendors without the big picture, and so much money spent, my and I were still sick. Purified came in, inspected our home, and gave us answers to our lingering problem. My husband and I are amazed at how much better we feel just one week post deep with them. Right from the start everyone was so helpful and responsive. My initial call with Skip was filled with numerous questions, and he patiently answered each one of them and explained things no previous vendor had as to what was actually going on in our house that wasn't being resolved. Skip also gave us the total reassurance we found the right company and were in the best hands! Attention to Detail was very evident ! If you are suffering from mold or environmental illness in your living space, run, don't walk to Skip and his team. Highly recommend! Danielle and Mike S.

Kenneth was so polite, thorough, patient with all my questions. Very excited to be working with Purified Environments so I can get on with living. Highly recommend the whole team - Danielle

We have spent years and hundreds of thousands of dollars on medical bills trying everything to get my wife and daughter healthy. We still have a long way to go, but Skip and Purified Environments did more for us in a couple of hours than everything else combined (Skip is the founder of Purified Environments).
I told my wife I was writing this – here is what she just said: “You can say that Skip, like, literally saved my life.”
Here is what I recently texted, Skip:
“My wife is so happy. She is hopeful for the first time in years. She has been out of bed and moving around for 2 days straight – something that has not happened in years. There is NO dust in the house. You have had such a positive impact on our life! There is no way to overstate how much you have helped us. We never would have gotten here without you! Thank you so much!!”
Backstory and more detail:
My wife, daughter and I have been recovering from long-term mold exposure in our previous home. We had been out of the home for almost a year, but my wife and daughter began to decline even further. I called Purified Environments, and the founder, Skip Jankoski, did three things that we are convinced saved my wife’s life:
1. He identified that our current home was mold-free, but our immune systems were so compromised that we were reacting to bacteria being shed from our bodies. He personally came to our home and tested surfaces with advanced machines to show us the bacterial load. He then showed us how to clean the surfaces to attack these bacteria and their biofilm. He also guided us in finding the necessary supplies and provided a detailed, step-by-step handout he created for cleaning the whole home. This immediately helped my wife and daughter’s symptoms. Within two days of implementing Skip’s protocols, they stopped declining and started improving.
2. Skip is a highly credentialed expert and innovator in indoor air quality as well as the complex medical issues that can result from mold exposure. We had been consulting with a team of doctors at UCLA, several doctors in Santa Barbara, and a doctor who specializes in mold recovery. Skip was the only one who correctly identified what was currently making my wife and daughter sick — the mold exposure had led them to develop CIRS. He not only shared this suspicion with us but put us in touch with a doctor in Texas who specializes in CIRS. She returned our call right away because Skip referred us. She identified that several of the anti-fungal medications my wife had been prescribed were making her worse. We stopped those medications, and my wife began to improve even more.
3. Skip followed up a few days later with another idea: building an inexpensive air filtration improvement system and placing them around the home. He came out on his own time on a Saturday morning and brought a very sensitive particle counter typically found in biotech clean rooms. He tested our air before and 30 minutes after turning on the filters. Within 30 minutes, we had clean-room-level air quality throughout the home. My wife and daughter’s acute CIRS reactions were gone overnight.
I cannot recommend Purified Environments highly enough. Their technicians, Kenneth and Zachary, are very experienced and knowledgeable. Their dry-fogging technology has been a game changer for keeping our current home safe.
If you have any concerns about mold or, more broadly, indoor air quality — you have the best experts in the country right here in Santa Barbara at Purified Environments.

Skip and his team saved our family and I am forever grateful for their expertise and compassion. Purified Environments did our Post Remediation Verification testing and took samples after mold was discovered in the home we were renting (daughter's room and kitchen). We were all having symptoms - especially my daughter who was under 1 years old. I was so scared and felt so desperate to get out of the home. Skip was so kind and knowledgeable. He analyzed the mold test results for me and taught me about mold and about my rights. He was so incredibly generous with his time. He even spoke to me on weekends. Skip did not have to do this but did because he genuinely cared. He advised me on which tests to do after remediation to ensure that the home was safe to return to. Long story short, we were able to break our lease and get our rent money back. I owe it all to Skip and his team. If I could give them 100 stars I would!

Purified Environments - skip and jessica and the team- went well above and beyond to help us. I was unwell from mold exposure and pregnant at the time, so this was an especially vulnerable and overwhelming situation.
The time, care, and attention they gave us helped me understand what was happening and feel supported through the process. Their thorough approach was incredibly reassuring.
The results speak for themselves — I was able to recover in the house after their work.
My family and I are so grateful. Thank you.

So grateful for Purified Environments. From the owners, to all the project managers and office team, they are truly knowledgeable, responsive and empathetic. They went above and beyond any other contract service team I've experienced as a home owner. They also deeply considered the health implications of mold exposure and provided me with many tools to feel at peace in my home again. 100% recommend

We met Restore and Renew Professionals at the absolute worse point in our lives.
This was the second flood we experienced due to water leak. The first one was a disaster the remediation company said they handle the tear up and repairs. They only did the drying and tear out and disappeared.
So when our second leak happened due to the slab rubbing against the water line in the kitchen. It was recommended that we have a remediation team come in. I was apprehensive because of my first experience and the fact I had to find sub contractors and schedule everything.
Restore and Renew was recommended and came out quickly. I was told that they will take care of the project from beginning to end.
After the house dryer out Josh came out and we discussed what we wanted done as we wanted to upgrade the flooring and paint the rooms. We also wanted to put carpet down in our upstairs loft.
Josh listened and put together the project. The estimated costs were broken down to covered insurance, and what we would owe out of pocket.
Once we agreed Restore and Renew got to work. There were no down days there were contractors here every day doing something.
Once the entire project was complete we reviewed everything with Josh before the final payment was made.
The sub contractors were professional and knew what they were doing. Our house was put back as if nothing had happened. Every extra job we added was done and done well.
We are so happy with Restore and Renew we will be contacting with them for a new deck this summer.
They put our lives and our house back to a home. You will not be disappointed if you need their services. A job well done!

I can’t say enough about how grateful I am for Skip’s guidance! Even though I live out of state, he took the time to consult with me and help me understand exactly what was happening in my home after I discovered hidden mold issues that had started affecting my health again. His depth of knowledge about proper decontamination protocols and industry standards gave me so much confidence in how to move forward — especially when navigating a complicated landlord-tenant situation.
Skip explained everything in a way that made sense, helped me understand what questions to ask, and gave me clear next steps to protect myself and get my environment remediated correctly. Having an expert like him in my corner brought such peace of mind during a really stressful time.
I highly recommend Skip and Purified Environments to anyone dealing with mold, water damage, or contamination issues — even if you’re not local. His consultation alone is worth every penny for the clarity and direction he provides!

Purified Environments has a team of professionals that helped me uncover a chronic mold issue and navigate what to do about it. They provided equipment designed by the owner Skip to immediately minimize my exposure while creating a plan for remediation. Veronica kept me well informed of the process and what I needed to do to be safe. I can’t express enough how well qualified Kenneth was in getting to the bottom of mold issues and addressing them. In my case, a lot of repair and remediation was necessary in my bathroom to eliminate mold and prevent further exposure that was coming from a leaky sewage pipe. I never would have uncovered the source and got to the bottom of molding cabinets without their help. I highly recommend Purified Environments and encourage people if you suspect mold at all, don’t hesitate to test because your health is worth it and cannot be compromised.

We literally cannot thank Purified Environments enough for the support, knowledge, information, and detailed analysis of the mold issue in our rental. Skip is the most knowledgeable person in this field. He explained in detail the impacts of mold Both on the property and more importantly to our health. Ken completed an extremely thorough investigation of our entire house. The team also completed swab test, air test, tape test, and something that look like a swiffer. The report that was created for us was so detailed and so clear in explaining the significant mold problem in our rental. It gave us specific ways to correct the problem, and offered suggestions for how to do it. The documentation of the situation was detailed with hundreds of pictures. We used this report to get our property manager to take our mold concerns seriously, and to begin their own investigation into the property, which we had been trying to do for five years. Later, Skip and his team helped us to understand how to decontaminate our belongings and how to safely move into a new environment. I also want to add that the communication with Jessica in terms of scheduling and providing more details and getting me in contact with Skip quickly was incredible and supportive. Our family feels like in an extremely difficult time, Purified Environments stepped up and really helped us to get back on the road to living in a safe and healthy environment again. We recommend them as highly as possible and are very grateful for their help. Oh, we also found the cost to be well worth it!

We used Pure Maintenance to dry fog our condo to get rid of pathogens and mold spores in the air. It is awesome to walk in and breathe deeply of the clean air. We also had them install a whole house air purifier in our HVAC -- what a difference. Not only clean air but noticeably less dust on our furniture. Awesome! As icing on the cake they are efficient, professional and friendly.

Skip and his cleaning crew make a LIFE changing difference!
My family home was in need of extreme help. I would walk in and immediately have a highly allergic reaction to the environment. She is a single parent with three children, dogs, chickens- you name it. Herself and children were all experiencing issues which I believe had to do with the air and cleanliness quality.
I did not know what to do to help, but somehow I landed Pure Maintenance crew's information. I called, and Skip came myself and my mom. He tested for mold, and thoroughly explained to us why this type of testing and proper disinfecting is so important.
He is extremely passionate, can answer in clear detail any questions you have, and is a GENUINE, kind person who wants to help and knows he can.
After convincing my mom to make a much needed change for the health and wellbeing of herself and my siblings, she agreed to have the Pure Maintenance team come in and clean, disinfect, and install a system that would help maintain air quality 24/7.
The home now looks like it's removed 10 years of damage (quite literally as it was in very bad condition). They cleaned everything in detail, including floors. I can walk into the home with no symptoms or reactions, and it has made the BIGGEST difference in their lives as well, in so many ways. I cannot be more grateful for their support, patience, and top-quality service.
THANK you Skip & team, you are truly angels!

“We discovered mold in our apartment bathroom, and after many tried and failed attempts to solve the problem with our apartment complex, we decided to reach out to a professional to confirm our concerns. That’s when we connected with Skip. Not only was he helpful, but he was so informative and reassuring after hearing our situation. He soon after helped us discover that although we did have mold growing in our bathroom, that it was non-invasive and it could be easily resolved. Thank you!”
