Mold Tests (Air Spore Trap Testing)
Air Spore Trap Testing
Breathing elevated and/or toxic mold in an environment can make you sick, and you don’t have to see mold to have a mold problem. If you suspect a mold problem but cannot see any visible growth, air and surface testing can measure the quantity of mold and identify the species present in the environment. This testing can provide valuable information about air quality and may also help pinpoint the source of the mold.
If you see visible mold, it’s still a good idea to get it tested. Testing the visible mold can confirm that it is, in fact, mold, while air testing provides information about the air quality and what the occupants might be breathing in.
Mold air spore trap testing is an effective method for identifying potential elevated mold levels that could impact indoor air quality. However, it does have some limitations. If there is suspicion of a mold issue or moisture problems, this testing should be used in conjunction with other assessment methods. These may include moisture mapping, inspections, and additional testing, particularly if occupants are sensitive to mold or experiencing health issues believed to be related to it.
Other (Varies)
Water-damaged buildings are unhealthy and can cause contamination beyond just mold. In many cases, especially if occupants have sensitivities, we recommend conducting additional tests such as ERMI, HERTSMI-2, Actino, Endotoxin, and Mycotoxin testing, among others.
